Use the Chrome extension

The Chrome extension puts Dash in a side panel next to whatever page you’re looking at. Dash can see the page content, so you can ask questions about what’s on screen without copying and pasting.

Install the extension

1. Open the Dash extension page in the Chrome Web Store.
2. Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension in the confirmation dialog.
3. Pin the Dash icon to your toolbar so it’s always one click away.
4. Click the icon. Dash will ask you to sign in. Use the same account you use for Slack, Teams, or the web dashboard.

Once signed in, the extension stays connected for 90 days before asking you to re-authenticate.

The side panel

Click the Dash icon (or use the keyboard shortcut) to open the side panel. It’s a full chat, same as Slack, Teams, or the web. Type a message, get a response.

The difference: Dash can see the page you’re on. It reads the page title, URL, selected text, and visible content, then uses that as context for your question. You don’t need to explain what you’re looking at.

Examples of things that work well:

I’m looking at a HubSpot deal page. “What’s the history on this account?”

I’m reading a competitor’s pricing page. “How does this compare to our pricing?”

I’m on a GitHub PR. “Summarize what this PR changes.”

I’m looking at a support ticket. “Draft a reply based on our help docs.”

Proactive suggestions

When you land on a page where Dash spots something useful it could do, a small suggestion card appears in the side panel. It might say “This deal hasn’t been updated in 12 days, want me to pull the latest?” or “I can draft a follow-up based on this email thread.”

You can:

• Click “Do it” to send the suggestion as a message to Dash and get the result.
• Dismiss to hide that suggestion.
• Snooze to hide it for a while.

Suggestions are capped per day so they never feel like spam. If you want to turn them off entirely, tell Dash “stop suggesting things” and Dash will opt you out. Say “start suggesting things again” to opt back in.

Page context and privacy

Dash reads the visible text on the current tab only when the side panel is open. It does not read other tabs, browser history, passwords, or form fields you haven’t submitted. The page content is treated as reference data, not instructions, so a page can’t trick Dash into doing something you didn’t ask for.

If you select text on the page before sending a message, Dash focuses on the selection instead of the full page.

Browser-powered tasks

Some scheduled tasks need a live browser to run (for example, visiting a page and reading its current state). When one of these fires, Dash sends it to your open side panel instead of running headlessly. You’ll see the task arrive, and Dash will ask for confirmation before taking any action on the page.

If the side panel isn’t open when a browser task fires, Dash skips that run and tries again next time.
